Healing Beyond 4 Walls
Land-based Equine-Assisted Learning programs with horses, helping people move forward through trauma, grief, addictions recovery, and life’s challenges. Unforgettable learning. Skills for life.
Who We Work With:
❋ Adults in Recovery
Building confidence, responsibility, communication, healthy boundaries, and skills that support continued recovery and reintegration into everyday life.
❋ Youth, Youth at Risk
Creating opportunities to build confidence, emotional awareness, communication, decision-making, responsibility, and healthy relationships.
❋ People Experiencing Trauma or Grief
A quiet, experiential environment to slow down, reconnect, reflect, and begin exploring ways forward
❋ For Those Who Care for Others
Caregivers, first responders, social workers, and helping professionals often spend so much of their lives helping others move forward. They deserve a space to step outside, slow down, reconnect, and find support for their own journey forward.
What Participants are Saying:
“I’ve learned so much from my horse—about teamwork, communication, and myself. But most of all, I’ve learned that healing can include having fun, feeling connected, and enjoying being here. I wish I could come every day.”
Why Horses?
Cats, Dogs, horses... what's the difference? For one thing, horses are a prey animal, willing to work with us humans! Amazing. By their intuitive nature and innate sensitivity, horses can provide facilitators with a window into the participants personality. The horses react to the stimulus through body language, and participants must adjust their feelings and behaviors to work successfully with the horses.
Through carefully guided, ground-based activities, participants have opportunities to experience communication, boundaries, trust, responsibility, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and connection in real time.
